Good to know
Each page is re-saved as a compressed image. That is why scanned PDFs often get 60–90% smaller. Text in the result can no longer be selected or searched. If your PDF is mostly typed text, it is probably already small.

Scanned and photo-heavy PDFs usually shrink by 50–90%. Text-only PDFs may not shrink.
Is there a file size limit?
No fixed limit. Very large PDFs (hundreds of pages) can be slow on phones.
